A walk with Norwich tour guide, Paul Dickson, covering the story of the Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital.

The tour features Jenny Lind, the Swedish Nightingale’s concerts in Norwich in 1847 and 1849 and the foundation of the Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital; visits to the old Bishop’s Palace where Jenny Lind stayed (courtesy of Norwich School) and Norwich Cathedral to view the memorial window to Bishop Stanley, who was Jenny Lind’s host.

We will also go to the Norfolk Heritage Centre at The Forum to view programmes from the Jenny Lind concerts and other promotional material, finishing with a walk to Pottergate to see the site of the first Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital.

Tours starts at the Erpingham Gate of Norwich Cathedral in Tombland (across the road from the Maids Head Hotel) and will last approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.
